Purple has been my favorite color since having a daughter almost 2 years ago... I was determined I didn't want her to be a pink girly-girl, so purple became my go-to color. It's feminine and sophisticated and has a girly feel without being too over the top. I LOVE it!

3 years ago I used your orchid fabric to make a baby bag for a friends daughter, it has been my favorite creation so far! I don't see the print listed on your site anymore, but I loved it and so did she! Purples/pinks are seriously lacking in my stash!

Purple has a nice coolness to it and gray offers elegance - I think it works well as a combination. What about a punch of yellow as an accent for both?

decadent. I think I would add a splash of tiffany blue to the orchid/grey mix. there's something regal yet approachable to this line.

RinaArt said...

I recently had a session with a stylist, a Tim Gunn's Guide to Style kind of thing. It was a traumatic experience in many ways (now I understand why the women always cry on that show), and a lot of my favorite colors were vetoed. I can't wear red or orange anymore (she's right, those colors don't flatter me at all, but it's still a painful experience). However, grey & purple are both on the allowed list. I would love to win this and maybe make a couple of skirts and shirts to fill up my now quite empty closet...

I'm new to sewing, and I love your orchid gray color story. I taught myself to sew after my first daughter was born two years ago, and I am just starting to think of all the many uses of the beautiful fabric you guys create! For my girls and for my home as well! I definitely got my interest in sewing from my late father, who was an upholsterer, but I was always terrified of his machine growing up. Since then, I've got the courage to learn how to use the machine and teach myself to sew. All of your beautiful fabrics are so inspirational to my creations. I just found your blog, and now I'm an addicted follower!

That color is really beautiful and really hard to combine properly, the bad thing about it is that it must combine with everything you are wearing, because it doesn't look good with many colors.
